Valliperumal inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp.
Periyar University Governing Body Member Mr. Arivazhagan welcomed everyone. Dr. Arumugam, Principal of the College of Arts and Sciences, delivered the inaugural address and read out the annual report.
Krishnagiri District Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Sangu was the special guest in the function. In his congratulatory speech, the Chancellor wished the rural students to take advantage of the advancement in information technology to get a good education, get selected in the campus and get employment.
When the special guest speaks among the students, the single mantra word at everyone’s disposal is “education”. Classroom studies are not the only education. Morality, virtue, good thinking, good conduct, sports, agriculture are all education. We have to master it. It should be followed daily. The culture of a race is associated with the culture of the mother tongue. That is our life and spirit, he wished the students to excel in sports and education, succeed in competitive exams and get high jobs.
In the function, the guests felicitated the students who obtained special marks in various sports competitions, university level, awarded medals and certificates. All professors and office workers who have worked well were given certificates and souvenirs. Students’ artistic performances followed and the function was attended by professors, officers, students, Administrative Officer Suresh and guests.
